Initially when you bring up the RAC there is no security set. It is a good idea to first test

the unit with all security off. This allows verification of the interfaces and allows you to

become familiar with the operation of the RAC. The following test should be tried:

• Telnet - first telnet to the RAC and make sure you can log into it. This can be done

using a PC, which is on the network, and at the “START” prompt type telnet

Setup of Classic DCM Interface

Establishes the IP address if they are assigned on

the B-Channel. Syntax is “set wan=W remote_address B

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1”. This command will set 24 IP addresses

starting at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for all 24 B channels for

wan = W, where W equals 1 or 2. In this example they

are being set by the RADIUS server.

Sets address for IPX. ( not discussed in this paper.)

Set the B channels so the “wink” the DMS-10 when

they answer.

This sets the interface to standard T1 trunking.

Buildout for line length values are
